CIR Professors to Lead Exploratory Teaching Group on AI and Graduate Learning
The Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning (CCTL) is supporting a new Exploratory Teaching Group (ETG) led by Dr. Linnea Turco, Assistant Instructional Professor, and Peter Tinti, Lecturer in the Committee on International Relations. Their project, Critical Thinking, AI Integration, and Alternative Assessments for Graduate Students in International Relations, will explore how generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is reshaping learning and assessment at the graduate level.
Through sustained conversation among CIR faculty and invited experts, the group will examine how GenAI influences students’ critical thinking, research skills, and professional preparedness. By engaging questions of pedagogy and practice, the ETG aims to identify innovative approaches to evaluation and learning that uphold CIR’s commitment to intellectual rigor while equipping students for the evolving landscape of international relations.
