Peter Tinti received his MA in International Peace and Security from Kings College London in 2008 and a BA in Peace War and Defense and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006.
His work primarily focuses on conflict, security, human rights, organized crime, and the energy transition. Among other outlets, his writing and photography has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vice, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, and World Politics Review.
At CIR, he teaches elective courses on transnational organized crime, international migration, Africa and international relations, and the geopolitics of the energy transition.
He is the author, with Tuesday Reitano, of the book Migrant, Refugee, Smuggler, Savior and was part of the team for Foreign Policy awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Book and Journalism Award, New Media category.
