The CIR program greatly enhanced the analytic skills I developed as an undergraduate. I exploited the flexibility offered to me by selecting a variety of courses in international relations theory and security, international political economy, and regional studies in order to build a multifaceted approach to understanding defense strategic planning. Since leaving the university, I have found that a rigorous Chicago education pays large dividends in the field of national security affairs.
