A Wide Range of Careers
Graduates of the program enter or return to a wide range of careers for which the MA is increasingly the entry-level degree. Such careers include policy analysts, research associates, consultants, writers, government service employees (domestic and abroad), administrators and more in public and private sectors. In addition to our in-house Career Services, we offer a national network of CIR and UChicago alumni, in concert with the University’s graduate student affairs division known as UChicagoGRAD and our Alumni Relations and Development team to enthusiastically assist current students in identifying career possibilities and securing challenging positions.
One of the greatest benefits to interdisciplinary study is the ability to customize learning and possible career trajectories based on the interests of the individual. For that very reason, there is great diversity in the types of positions, organizations, and industries where CIR graduates have accepted offers.
