About the Program
The University of Chicago's Committee on International Relations (CIR) is the nation's oldest graduate program in international affairs and one of the world's leaders in the training of foreign policy professionals. The Committee's students are served well by the institution's continuing dedication to research and rigorous academic standards. Many use their study with the Committee on International Relations as a stepping-stone for further scholarship at some of the world's most prestigious graduate institutions. CIR alumni have served with distinction on the faculty of colleges, universities and other scholarly academies worldwide. Other CIR graduates have gone on to careers in government or the private sector, working as consultants, in think tanks, and with elite multinational corporations.
